As per the title of the post, this is another forum game/discussion about the book series and/or book you're currently reading. Provide a small description of the book, the author's name, and the genre which the book falls under. I'm sure there has to be people reading something! I'm currently reading George R.R. Martin's Wild Card series (he is the author and writer of A Song of Ice and Fire, commonly referred to by it's book 1 title, "Game of Thrones") He is a fantastic writer. He falls under science fiction and fantasy, while most of his stories focus on some type of backstabbing. He keeps me hooked long enough to read more. So, what are you currently reading?

I'm just reading a novel that's a prequel to the Bioware video game Mass Effect. I also read a book called Warrior Within written by a former Navy Seal , about how most things in life can be broken down into targets, missions, etc. and if you approach your goals with the single minded purposefulness of a SEAL, you can totally smash your goals. The description of SEAL Hell Week makes me respect their toughness. As I'm reading this list, I realize that these are "young guy books" and I'm a 40 year old mommy. But my daughter and I are tomboys who play GTA V, so we don't read that girly Twilight crap.
About a month ago I finished A Dance with Dragons (part of the "Game of thrones" series mentioned above) Currently I am re-re-re-re (you get the point)reading the Dresden Files series. It is hands down one of the best things I have ever read and I have read a lot of things. A quick and dirty summary of the series is There is a man in Chicago who calls himself a wizard and he is in fact a wizard a very sarcastic, snarky, and funny wizard. The series is a sort of not quite cop series not quite fantasy adventure like mix. It is 100% entertaining and awesome though. I HIGHLY recommend at least trying to read the first book and personally I would be really surprised if you end up not liking it. Everyone i borrow or recommend it to ends up raving about it. Now I shall hop down off of my soap box so you can resume your normal activities.
That sounds awesome! I should have to try that out, indeed. Always on the lookout. If you like Martin check out the wild card series and his other writings. They're just as fantastic, if not just straight fantasy. Hedge Knights is also a good spin off series focusing on the Song's various Wandering Knights.
I'm currently reading The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie. If you're looking for a summary, you won't get one because I haven't made a dent in the book. All I know is that it's a fantasy novel with a character named Logan Ninefingers, but I might read more tomorrow and provide an idea of what the book is like.
You'll have to let me know how that is. I'm reading documents on Michio Kaku wrote about quantifying human consciousness in stages. It's quite riveting to think like these top minds do and see what science is on the forefront of next.
While I am technically not reading it right now, I am on book 2 of A Song of Ice and Fire. Which happily relates to Shimus' post.
Since the Goosebumps Movie is finally coming out this October, I decided to sit down and read the Goosebumps Horrorland series. I've only got one book left of the first 13 with the first storyline to go. I read them out of order by way of preference, but I didn't lose out on any nostalgia or become confused by reading them out of order. So far, my favorite in the Horrorland series is My Friends Call Me Monster.
I just started To Kill a Mockingbird today. And by started I mean I literally just read some 20 or so pages, so I'll see how I like it.
