I've bumped up the maximum number of images to 2. The reason I tend to keep it low is because of what was mentioned; images, particularly gifs, add latency. Though people are free to turn off the option to see them, not a lot of people realize it's actually an option. We'll see how it goes from here, I'm open to making it higher, but I think two is okay.
