Ha! I know what you mean. I almost felt like a healing item junkie trying to power level my characters. Sniffing medical powders and chugging Yamata drinks whenever someone was hurt to just keep on going. I mean, I could've opted for the debug menu to level or win blackjack but this was way more satisfying.

Not taking up gambling in both the game and the irl was a good decision. Well done :)
To be fair, money wasn't an issue in Innocent Sin. Armour and weapons seemed to cost a fortune in Eternal Punishment late game though.

I suppose the casino is good since it gives you unique Persona's (and maybe fool cards?) but I was never that much into it.

You sound like you had a party of Lisa's.

Also...Persona 2 IS is average at best.
P2 EP is about the same so far.Gameplay just makes me want to dress up as a pinata and go to some birthday party to receive a beating from kids - that'd be more fun than playing P2 EP =(

Really!? Most people I know who've played both prefer Innocent Sin compared to Eternal Punishment. What was it that put you off from EP?

I prefer Innocent Sin, but there are plenty of reasons for people to like Eternal Punishment more than Innocent Sin. It's much longer, has two routes and a bonus dungeon, makes more/better use of rumours, more optional dungeons and more side activities.

I take it you prefer Eternal Punishment, or do you just like Katsuya?

I think it was the overall darker and angsty feel of Eternal Punishment that really spoke to me when I bought them both. Innocent sin felt a bit lighter in terms of dialogue. Not quite sure why considering both games did have their disturbing parts.

Actually, I'm a Baofu fan so actually getting to use him was a big plus for me. I just liked Katsuya when it came to that part where you had to fight with Tatsuya for the first time.

Agreed. Though there was so much more to do in Innocent Sin than in Eternal punishment. And the fact that you get to fight Hitler? Priceless :D

Innocent Sin was more lighthearted, but I'd say it was still darker than Eternal Punishment. I can see Eternal Punishment being less lighthearted as a reason to like it though.

Baofu is a top tier character, the others not so much. Since you could equip multiple Personas for each character, I don't think they had much of a unique feel. Using a coin as a weapon is a big plus though >_>

Sorry, I meant there was more to do in Eternal Punishment. Though the translated version of Innocent Sin does have the climax theatre to be fair.

Innocent Sin on it's own is just flat out mediocre.Nothing about it is good.I haven't finished P2 EP ( because I really don't want to play that freaking game) but it will probably be just as 'meh' as P2 IS, but at least it will have a benefit of having an actual ending that doesn't say that you just wasted 40 hours of your time for 'It was all a dream!' BS.
EP at least has characters worth a damn and the dialogues/writing in general is not as childish and anime like P2 IS, but that's about it.Although the gameplay and interface in EP is worse, because at least there is a better version of IS on PSP where gameplay was adjusted and changed somewhat.

No spoilers about the ending about EP but you will still be kinda disappointed by it.

I was actually bothered when using Tatsuya's Sprite in IS because he looks a bit stretched compared to his battle sprite. Though Maya's in EP didn't do too much better, at least it was tolerable.
