Welcome to the future, fellas.
We held a poll to see if a Discord server would be appropriate for our community. After a looooong not-even-24-hours, with the Yes’s leading the way, I’ve gotten it implemented into our site.
It’s not just a simple “go sign up on Discord and let’s talk there” concept. In fact, your usergroup here on Megami Fuse dictates your group on the Discord as well: if you’re a contributor, you’ll be marked as such — automatically. No need to verify manually with team members. All you need to do is visit the External Accounts section in your profile, scroll down to the Discord section, and associate your account with it.
After you press that button, you’ll be redirected to Discord’s site, where you simply press the “Authorize” button:
Annnd, you’re done. You’ll be redirected back to Megami Fuse and your account will now be associated with Discord.
Visit the chat page, which can be found in the top navigation of the site, to find the invite link to the Discord server. Click that link and you’re good to go. If you notice that your account hasn’t given you the correct permissions, simply go back to your settings, disassociate Discord, and then associate it again. It only takes a second when you’re already logged into these services.
Note: your forum username will be your nickname on the Discord server. Each server on Discord has the option of allowing nicknames, and ours allows this in order to keep our usernames uniform across both platforms. This will help avoid confusion as to who is speaking.
